LiveScan
Starting last year, all AYSO volunteers, as defined below, are required to complete LiveScan through AYSO (at an “AYSO LiveScan Event” or separately with a specific AYSO 78-provided billing code). This is quick & we pay for it:
WHO MUST DO THIS? - Based on what is defined as a "regular volunteer", our Area 1P has defined this to include Coaches (10U & higher), Referees (Intermediate level & higher) & all Board Members.
WHY? - Effective January 2022, all adult youth sports volunteers in California are required to undergo “Live Scan” fingerprinting. This is in addition to the Sterling Volunteers background check/ (For info, see our AYSO Volunteer page on California AB 506 – Background Check/Livescan Policy for CA Volunteers).
MUST BE DONE THROUGH AYSO - LiveScan through other organizations are NOT transferable. You must register for an appointment at an AYSO. A few scheduled in August…maybe a couple more TBA for September (please do ASAP & get it over with).
WHERE CAN I DO THIS? - If you follow the link below, you’ll be able to register for a LiveScan appointment at an "AYSO Event" offered by one of the local LA regions. These are usually only offered in late August or early September. If you are not able to attend, this will require us to purchase a special AYSO LiveScan code for you to do at a LS location...please do your best to get to an AYSO Event LS instead. Please follow the link to reserve your appointment…as long as everything runs smoothly, it just takes a couple minutes.
Here's how to register for the Live Scan Fingerprinting events: Please note that Live Scans are not transferable from another organization, so you need to perform this process for each applicable organization you volunteer with, but the good news is that this is a one-time requirement. Please follow the link below and the instruction steps carefully to register online to sign up for fingerprinting.
